Item #166 – SOLD
We discovered these two little gems just blocks away from each other in Central Detroit. Although covered in dust and grime we could see the glimmering metal lines and new each piece had potential. The 1950’s flashlight cleaned up nicely, but would sadly never again work to illuminate the darkness on its own. So we stripped out the inside and wired in a small flip switch then secured the flashlight to a reclaimed wooden base. Once that was done we simply had to figure out attaching the vintage metal hardhat, and thankfully we had a broken lamp shade from the trash that would work perfectly. A few more pieces and a little bit of paint completed this truly original lamp and paid homage to the years of history they reflect. Now these everyday safety tools can make a wonderful addition to any desk or table.
