Modernist Mirror

Item #207 – $500

Local Pickup Only

We let the design develop through the constraints of the material on-hand. Framed around a salvaged mirror these dowels, and geometric wood scraps led us to a design inspired by Paul Klee, the mid-century modernist artist. The geometry, the play of negative space, and the simple color palette create a truly unique handmade mirror.

Pallet Row Mirror

Item #245 – $350

This large mirror and frame were carefully recovered from an abandoned synagogue 15 minutes north of downtown Detroit. After saving the mirror we sealed in the layers of paint with an adhesive clear coat. Then we mounted pieces of quilted and curly maple hand-cut from an old shipping pallet in a staggered pattern across the mirror. Finally we used old bolt hooks and a reclaimed chain for mounting.
